waiting...

on most days of the week my desk has some of these little pretties sitting on it..randomly lined up, sanded, cleaned of oil left by finger tips and waiting to be set on ear posts. Aren't they pretty just like this? I love the little shapes the light makes inside each of them...

What are you doing this weekend? I hope to make it to the finders keepers markets and the Made with Love exhibition. Both have a great line up of artists, designers and makers.

wish list..

It's been a productive day here in the studio thanks to Melanie for sharing the links to CraftyPod. {I always work better when I'm listening to inspirational people talk about balancing art and life}

A little window shopping on etsy is all the more enjoyable after a good day working. How delicious is this heart by stormy sky?

pretty gift...

It was my last day teaching on Friday. I've spent most of this year busy or unwell so decided it was time to let go of a few things. I will miss my students and colleagues dearly but look forward to being able to focus on hot toffee and plan to pop in here more regularly. x

not ready for change.

I've been wanting for a long time to have a side bar on both sides of my blog posts so upon seeing the new blogger templates felt quite excited and started to play...not realising that what I was doing was making live changes to my blog..ooops AND I can't figure out how to get my old blog settings back...eeek!! So, I've now been sitting here on a Saturday changing my blog and will be rearranging things here and there so please bare with me through the 'not ready for change' changes that I'm making. I'm usually someone who likes to take baby steps and think a lot before making changes so I'm a little out of my comfort zone.. but also having fun.

Change is good!

It's so refreshing for me to see hot toffee through Julia's eyes - thank you x

It was lovely to share a stand with Julia from {a creature strange} on Saturday. It was also very tempting as each time I glanced at her table something caught my eye. The yo-yo necklaces are stunning and look amazing on. In the end it was one of the gorgeous yo-yo brooches that came home with me. Head over to Julia's etsy store or blog to be tempted yourself :)

Windsor Deli and gluten free..

A couple of months ago my brother mentioned that his good friend, Katrina was trialing gluten free food and was keeping a record of this on her blog..I was instantly interested as Katrina and her husband Alan are both chefs and own Windsor Deli in Windsor, Victoria. I visited the Windsor Deli blog and tried the muffin recipe within a couple of days. I was pleasantly surprised as a lot of gluten free food is lacking in texture....but these apple muffins were fluffy AND yummy!! (sorry no photos as they were gobbled up very quickly)

After contacting Katrina to express my excitement about what she and Alan were doing she kindly sent me a batch of the GF flour they make along with some hand written recipes!

hand. written. recipes. Thank You x

Choc Caramel Tart - photo by Katrina

I've since tried several of Windsor Deli's Gluten Free recipes including the pancakes, gnocchi and choc caramel tart - the textures and flavours are amazing which has inspired me to cook more which has ultimately reignited my passion for food and cooking. I can't wait to try these Souffles, my mouth waters just looking at the photos..yum.

Katrina is currently working on a gluten free pizza base recipe so I'll keep you posted. (I know there are a few friends out there who are also living life gluten free so I will aim to photograph and document the recipes I try)

How exciting to have a chef on my side! Thank you xx
